MRS DRUDEISHA MADHUB
DATA PROTECTION COMMISSIONER
 
I completed my LLB at the University of Mauritius in 1998 and was also the Vice-President of the Student Union of the University at that time. I then took part in the 1999 bar exams of the Council of Legal Education in Mauritius and came out first amongst the seven successful candidates and was awarded the first prize.  I joined the Attorney-General’s Office in august 2001 and stayed there for six and a half years as Senior State Counsel. I was awarded the British Chevening Scholarship in 2003 and concluded successfully my LL.M in International Human Rights at Essex University, Colchester. Since august 2007, I have joined the Prime Minister’s Office as Data Protection Commissioner and I am also a member of the Francophone Association of Data Protection Commissioners and GPEN Network. In March 2011, I was appointed data protection and human rights expert by Interpol and since then, a member of the Commission for the Control of Interpol’s Files.  In September 2014, I was appointed UN expert by joining the UN Global Pulse Data Advisory Group. I have published various articles in international journals and guidelines on data protection.
 
AMIT JUGGURNATH

Amit is a Senior Presales Technology Consultant covering the Eastern & SADC region. His primary focus is Business Intelligence and Big data Solutions. With over 10 years of experience working with Oracle technologies, Amit held a number of roles in the retail sector and public utilities before joining Oracle.
 
Prior to joining Oracle, Amit worked for the central Water Authority of Mauritius as IT Manager. He was involved in leading and implementing Oracle projects within the public utility and its partners.
Amit holds a Degree in Computer Applications and an MBA from the University of Surrey. He also holds a diploma in hardware engineering and is an Oracle certified professional in database. He is certified at associate level in project leadership certification. Amit has been a recipient of the group study exchange program by Rotary International to USA and Canada on the theme of Sustainable Development and Renewable Energy. Amit is also actively involved in the social sphere, being a Rotary member and Charter president of the Rotaract club of his town.
 
VIKAS SHARMA
 
Vikas is a Director in Consulting practice of  PwC Mauritius. He has more than 15 years’ of experience in leading technology led transformation projects. He has assisted Board's and senior executives to identify opportunities and threats that impact their businesses from digital disruption to market innovation. His areas of specialisation include Digital/Technology strategy, programme governance and cyber resilience. He has worked  in diverse geographies and has supported clients in India, Africa, Middle East and Indian Ocean Islands.

Vikas holds Masters in Electronics and Computer Science and  Post Graduate in Advance Computing from India. He also holds professional certificates such as Certified Security Auditor(CISA), Digital Forensic Investigation Professional(DFIP) and Chartered IT Professional(CITP).  Vikas is a frequent speaker for various associations, such as CIMA/MIPA, ITU and IST Africa.
 
SELVANA NAIKEN GOPALLA
INFORMATION SECURITY CONSULTANT, NATIONAL COMPUTER BOARD - MAURITIUS
 
Selvana is a qualified security professional and regular speaker at CERT Mauritius, National Computer Board. As part of her present role as Information Security Consultant, she is very much involved in the implementation of Information Security Management Systems based on ISO/IEC 27001, security policies, risk/gap assessments and security audits for parastatal bodies and security awareness at the national level. Selvana has been in the field since the past 7 years, during which she also held roles in the transport industry in the United Kingdom and management consulting, technology services and outsourcing sector in Mauritius. ​

Selvana graduated with an MSc in Information Security with distinction from Royal Holloway, University of London. She is also a Digital Forensics Investigation Professional, a Certified Ethical Hacker and a Certified ISMS Implementer.
Dr. DAVID BREWER, FBCS, CITP

Dr. David Brewer is a founder director of IMS-Smart Limited, IMS-Smart Technology Limited and an external director of IIJ-Europe Limited.  He was one of the first consultants to advise the British Government on information security matters at the beginning of the 1980’s and for the last fourteen years has specialised in information security management.
He has conducted a wide variety of consultancy assignments in information security spanning 35 years in over 23 countries.
